Tomasko's Pismo Beach Taffy

  • Meet Roger

    Roger Tomasko, CCO
    (Chief Candy Officer)

Roger's fascination for candy started back in Asbury Park, New Jersey when he was four. His family would visit the Shore every summer and Roger would want to go see the taffy store more than anything.
Roger opened his first Pismo Beach taffy store in July 1988 at Cypress Landing. Roger had a vision about how the candy store was going to look by remembering the store from his childhood. He then opened the current store after Jerry Fissori retired in 1999.  I think Mr. Fissori knew that Roger would continue some of the traditions of Pismo and that Corner that many people have come to know so well through out the years.
Most of Rogers success is due to the Goodwill of people coming back year after year..They know they are going to get good quality homemade candy at a reasonable price. Over the years he has increased the amount of homemade items to include: Divinity, Fudge, Carmel Corn, Carmel Apples, English Toffee and of course many Chocolates......

  • Oh, Fudge!

So many choces...why not try them all?!

Roger Tomasko makes his fudge using very traditional, old-fashioned techniques... and an old recipe. After cooking the fudge, he uses a cream beater, which helps make the fudge smooth. These machines are rare, and the one that is used at Tomasko’s Taffy is over 90 years old. It gives the fudge the perfect blend of grainy, sugary and smooth textures.

  • Doc's Motor Oil

Car show treat available year round at Tomasko's!

Doc Burnsteins Ice Cream Lab made the flavor “Motor Oil” in 2008 for the Pismo Beach Car Show. They intended to only make it for the special occasion, but it was an instant success. It has remained the #1 selling ice cream year-round in Tomasko’s Taffy Shop since its debut.
